One of the many ministries Heartland Christian Resources has performed over its short 12 years has been the creation of a mortgage group that has helped hundreds of churches buy buildings, do upgrading and remodeling, and help their parishioners to buy homes through its mortgage program. With the help of such lenders as J.P. Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, West America, and CitiCorp, Heartland Christian Resources was able to help over 130 churches in the inner-cities of Milwaukee and Chicago get badly needed and, at the time, seemingly impossible financing.
"I can't tell you how many miracles I've seen ever since God sent me into the inner-cities ... but miracles they were ... and to help change these incredible and, at times, difficult ministries, is something few of us ever have the opportunity to experience, let alone, experience many times over again," Bill Gailbreath stated.
God has continually sent Heartland Christian businessman after businessman to help when their talents were needed. George Guritz has partnered with Heartland Christian Resources to focus on church refinancing.
"The financing world has changed ... and not for the better, as everyone knows, but we have many lenders who believe in our mission and are more than willing to help," states Guritz. "The church lending "boom" of a few years back has left many, many churches with balloon notes that are coming due and their current lenders (some no longer in business) are not willing to refinance and ... if they do ... it's at even higher rates than before. Well, we've seen enough to know that the damage to these churches could be catastrophic. Giving is down 30% nationally and our churches don't need additional expenses. We don't know where all of this is going but we at Heartland have the experience, contacts, and desire to help your church find the type of financing that is permanent and won't cause staff and services to be reduced."
